York Dredge

A tugboat and empty skow stand off the USCG Training Center at Yorktown awaiting a switch with another tug. The second tug will deliver a skow full of spoils from the bottom of the York River in front of the Yorktown Naval Weapons Station. The two tugs will trade skows and the full one will get dumped far out in the Chesapeake, or perhaps the sea. The York is renown as a self-dredging river, but the US Navy takes no chances on a grounding. williamsburgchartersails.com
